Securepier Tie Down is a fast effective way of anchoring portable building structures. A low impact and environmentally friendly system, Securepier Tie Down is installed via a steel tubular pile driven into the ground at an angle to the required depth by a simple jack hammer and proprietary driving tool.

Q. Do I require special equipment to install?
In order to install the system you will need to purchase a few specialist tools from us. The cost of these tools is relatively low. The other item you will require is a jack hammer which can be hired for around $100 a day or purchased for between $400 to $1200. 

Q. What wind regions can it be installed in?
Securepier Tie Downs can be installed in all wind regions of Australia inculding cyclonic. Our warranty even covers you for cyclonic conditions unlike other products on the market.

Q. What soil types will it go in?
The system has been designed and engineered to be installed in all soil conditions. Where rock is encountered you can predrill a hole to drive the pile into the ground. This is a far more superior way of dealing with rock sites than jack hammer a big hole in the ground only to fill back up again with concrete.

Q. What depth does the pile have to be driven in?
For instances a building size of 12 x 3 in wind regions A or B with a soil strenght of 100Kpa the pile would have to be driven into the ground 900mm. The depth of the pile really depends on how hard or soft your soil type is and the uplifting load being applied to the system. Our engineers pre-determine this based on your structure type, loads being applied, wind region and soil conditions. Their is no requirement to drive a test pile into the ground before determining the pile design depth or reach a certian torque or load rating once out on site as with other systems. These methods often lead to cost blow outs or variations to contracts.

Q. How long does it take to install?
The fastest we have ever installed the system was 3 minutes for a pile 900mm deep. This included fitting the pile cap to the pile and chain to the the building. Usually we recommend contractors allow 10 minutes to install the system when budgeting for project costs. This allows enough time for both hard or soft ground conditions. Connection to the building or structure excluded.  

Q. Can it be used as a permanent anchor or tie down for a building or structure? 
The system has been designed for buildings or structures that are temporary. Securepier Tie Down will in fact last the standard design life of a building or infrastructure project here in Australia of 50 years, however this will really depend on your local council or building certifier allowing this method to be used.   
 

Securepier Tie Down carries a 5 year structural warranty. This is due to the temporary and reusable nature of this product. Securepier Tie Down is manufactured under ISO 9001 Quality Assurance programme here in Australia. Materials used in our manufacturing process are sourced from Australian suppliers only guaranteeing conformance and performance of the system.
